Hotel communications specialist EFZ

As a hotel communications specialist, you can expect a wide range of tasks. First and foremost, you will welcome and bid farewell to guests. Upon arrival, you will inform them about the hotel's services, and upon departure, you will ask them if they were satisfied with their stay. In the back office, you will manage customer, employee, and operational data and settle outstanding amounts. Your activities are therefore essential for the smooth running of the hotel.

  • You are well organized
  • You think and work in a structured manner
  • You have at least the following secondary school grades: German: 5.5, French: 5.0, and English: 5.0
Duration of the trial apprenticeship 3–5 days
Day 1 Getting to know the à la carte service at Gurtners restaurant
Day 2 Morning: Getting to know the à la carte cuisine at Gurtners
Afternoon: Getting to know housekeeping
Day 3 Getting to know the office work as a HOKO

We do not offer trial apprenticeships in the HOKO area that last less than 3 days. The profession is varied and a shorter trial apprenticeship cannot do it justice.

Cook EFZ

Soups and sauces, meat and fish, buffets and desserts—you prepare all this and much more in your job as a chef. As a kitchen professional, you are creative and highly organized. After all, in addition to cooking, frying, and grilling, your tasks also include writing menu plans and dealing with suppliers. Variety is the order of the day for chefs. And not just in terms of food, but also in terms of activities.

Restoration specialist EFZ

The well-being of guests is at the heart of your work as a restaurant specialist. You create a pleasant atmosphere for them by setting and decorating tables in the hotel or restaurant. You then welcome guests, advise them on their menu choices, and serve them food and drinks. In addition, you can prepare simple dishes yourself and maintain the facilities and equipment in your area of responsibility.
