No. 1 – the largest fire pit by the Gurten garden
This area is particularly suitable for large groups. It is protected from the sun by the trees and you have a view over the entire meadow to the observation tower. It is easy to reach with a stroller and is only a few meters from the playground.
No. 2 – the fire pit by the monument
This small fire pit is a few meters away from fire pit no. 1 and offers a clear view over the entire park. A sunny spot ideal for feasting and sunbathing. As no wooden benches are on hand, a picnic blanket is recommended.
No. 3 – the fire pit in the middle of the meadow
At this location there is a barbecue with a grate next to the fire pits. The two trees provide a little shade. Particularly suitable for families as the area is raised and offers a clear view over the entire meadow. The wood is very close by.
No. 4 – the fire pit for campfires at the edge of the forest
Ideal for a campfire feeling with cervelat and marshmallows. The area is slightly hidden by the edge of the forest and enjoys excellent protection from the sun. It is easily accessible as it is right beside the Gurten circular trail. Barbecue sticks can be found in the wood.
No. 5 – the barbecue by the Ostsignal
From this area, you enjoy sweeping views over the Bernese Alps. This location is ideal for a snapshot at the Ostsignal. Ideal combination of sun and shade.
No. 6 – the fire pit in the feldhang
From this barbecue area, your can watch cyclists, joggers and hikers who are visiting the Gurten. You can also enjoy a view over the field towards Köniz. No direct access to the meadow.
No. 7 – the fire pit in the forest
This fire pit is surrounded by trees, keeping it cool and protected from the sun. A grill with grate can be found next to the fire pit on the ground. It is easily accessible with a stroller and offers a view over the meadow or the toboggan run. This area is located near the Gurten funicular.
