A summer evening full of life
A summer evening full of life
Open-air theater performances have been held on the Gurten for 24 years. Following Dällebach Kari, Einstein, Paradies, Abefahre, Flöört.ch, and da chönnt ja jede cho!, Bernese author and theater director Livia Anne Richard will bring her seventh and final premiere to Bern's local mountain this summer with the play “So viu Läbe”.
«So viu Läbe» is a profound and humorous work about the value of life – at any age. It is set in a very special intergenerational house – the Inseli – where young and old people actually LIVE, laugh, love, cry, eat, and talk together under one roof. They share a common home – and of course, that's not always easy: understanding and dialogue between the generations often resemble a roller coaster ride; misunderstandings and the resulting situational comedy are the order of the day.
Don't put yourself on the sidelines. Keep living until your last breath. Keep learning, keep laughing, keep going... The succinct saying “no risk – no fun!” applies especially to older people, who often make themselves invisible out of misplaced shame. At the Inseli, this situation is actively counteracted.
With her play, Livia Anne Richard wants to draw fine threads of connection between the worlds of the generations. Threads that are woven from the heart rather than the mind – and from the common denominator shared by all human beings: being born, being alive, and dying. You can look forward to a light-hearted yet deeply comforting play of loud and soft tones.
«So viu Läbe» is a play that concerns us all – at any age.
This marks the end of an era: after 24 years, «So viu Läbe» is Theater Gurten's last production.
