Observing the sun through a telescope

Visit the observatory for free on selected dates throughout the year, funded by Migros Culture Percentage.

Perhaps you will be able to spot sunspots through the telescope? Experience solar observation on three Sundays a year from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The event is weather-dependent and will be postponed or canceled in case of unfavorable conditions. Sign up to the list to be informed of any changes in good time before the event. The final decision on whether the event will take place will be announced on our website two days in advance.

Warning: Never observe the sun without suitable protective glasses or equipment, as this can cause serious eye damage. You will receive the necessary instructions and materials for safe observation at the Gurten.
