Open Observatory Day: Stargazing

free observation

Observing the stars through a telescope

The observatory is open to the public free of charge on five different dates in the year. You can visit the observatory from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m. on two Sundays in the summer to observe the sun. In the winter, you can survey the stars through the telescope from 7.30 p.m. until 22.30 p.m. on three Saturday evenings. These public viewing sessions are funded by the Migros Culture Percentage.

Do you discover the double star? Do you see the ring of Saturn? On Saturday evening, November 18, you can observe the stars and planets through a telescope from the Gurten. The AstroEvents team will explain exciting facts about our galaxy and more distant galaxies and provide insights into infinity.
The event takes place only in good weather. In case of heavy clouds the stars are not visible through the telescope.
